With one more opportunity to pick up birdies at Sunset Hills, the Open Women’s field at the Ledgestone Open did their best to reel in the leaders on moving day.

  • She didn’t post the hot round, but a 7-under par day from Paige Pierce sees her once again extend her lead over second place. Pierce is now nine strokes clear of the division at 18-under par total. After going bogey-free and 8-down through 11 holes, Pierce saw her first true test on the putting green on hole 12, which has tormented the FPO over two days, with a three-putt bogey. While she would earn the stroke back on the next hole by parking her drive, it slowed her momentum and she finished 1-over on the final five holes. Pierce leads the field in both strokes gained from tee-to-green, 20.70, and strokes gained putting, 7.72.
  • Catrina Allen is making a run at the podium after putting up the hot round of 8-under par to move up five positions into a tie for fourth with Maria Oliva at 7-under par total. Her bogey-free day was the only blemish-less round at Sunset over two rounds, and could have been even a notch better if not for three two-putts. She’s only two strokes behind second place Missy Gannon, 9-under, and one behind third place Sarah Hokom, 8-under.
  • Kona Panis is now nearing a top 10 finish with a 7-under par third round elevating her 14 spots into 13th at 5-over par total. She hit two Circle 2 putts Saturday, including one to get the eagle on the par 5 hole 6. Only Panis and Oliva recorded the eagle on the day.
  • Oliva is in a good position to record her best ever Elite Series finish. Her current high was seventh place at this season’s Masters Cup.
